Coulson Ranch, located in beautiful Granite Bay, California near Sacramento. Coulson Ranch was formed in 1999 by Tamara and Brian Coulson. In 2001 we started showing paint horses and met Julie Thompson-Martel who became an integral part of our business and under her guidance, many of our horses have become successful show horses in the paint horse industry.

Tamara’s showing endeavors included competing in all around events in the paint circuit across the country showing a horse named Hold N All The Chips earning numerous state awards and ended up 3rd in the nation. This excited our children to want to participate in showing paints. By the time our son, Brennan turned 3 he was already a state champion in Lead Line with a horse named Just A Swangin. He also had numerous state championships aboard Toys Express. Brennan is now 10 and has earned two World Champion titles with Toys Express. Brennan will be handing off Haley’s reins to, his little sister, Makenna Coulson. Brennan will be riding White Silk Stockings in 2009 western events.

Coulson Ranch is also living the racing dream as part of Epic Racing, a thoroughbred horse racing partnership. We met our partners of Epic Racing while they were rehabbing a horse at Granite Bay Equestrian center named Accomplice who was a multiple stakes winner. The venture has been a successful partnership. Our partners have been imported horses from Argentina and Australia, earning multiple wins along the way.

Presently, the breeding program is managed in Kentucky. Our broodmare, Lights Out has two foals to date and we are looking forward to their racing career in the future bringing us good luck! Romantic Intentions is the 2007 foal by Suave out of Lights Out, we look forward to bright future with many wins with this foal. The 2009 foal to be born in the spring, will be named Bright Lights Big City which we anticipate multiple wins as well. Please take a look around and you will see world champion horses with world champion riders.
